T1-OSFP112-800G-2DR4: High-Density 800G OSFP DR8 Transceiver for Next-Gen Networks

800G Blog

The T1-OSFP112-800G-2DR4 is an advanced 800G OSFP (Octal Small Form-Factor Pluggable) transceiver designed for next-generation data centers and AI clusters. This module supports 800G Infiniband NDR (Next-generation Data Rate) and Ethernet transmission over singlemode fiber using two MPO-12/APC optical connectors, delivering exceptional performance over distances up to 500 meters. Featuring a flat top IHS (Integrated Heat Sink) design, it ensures optimal thermal performance in high-density deployments.

The explosion of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics is fundamentally transforming data center infrastructure, driving a surge in demand for high-speed interconnect transceivers. These transceivers play a critical role in enabling high-bandwidth, low-latency connections between servers, storage, and network devices, supporting the ever-increasing data traffic and performance requirements of modern digital ecosystems. As workloads become more data-intensive and distributed—especially with the rise of AI clusters, hyperscale architectures, and edge computing—data centers must rely on advanced transceivers to efficiently handle massive volumes of information, ensuring seamless communication, scalability, and real-time analytics essential for competitiveness in today’s digital landscape.

Working Principles

The T1-OSFP112-800G-2DR4 operates using eight lanes of 100 Gbps, each modulated with PAM4 signaling, to achieve an aggregate throughput of 800 Gbps. The module transmits and receives data over single-mode fiber (SMF) through two MPO-12/APC connectors, allowing for precise and low-loss optical alignment. Operating in the 1310nm wavelength range (as per the 2DR4specification), this transceiver ensures reliable, high-speed transmission over short-reach links up to 500 meters, ideal for AI and HPC fabrics. Its flat top IHS enhances heat dissipation, ensuring stable performance in thermally demanding environments.

Primary Applications

  • AI/ML Infrastructure: Supports rapid communication between GPUs in AI clusters with high throughput and low latency.
  • Hyperscale Data Centers: Enables scalable, high-density interconnects for large-scale cloud environments.
  •  Backbone and Spine-Leaf Networks: Provides high-speed links between core and distribution layers.
  •  Co-Packaged Optics Transition: Ideal for facilities preparing for next-gen optical architectures.
  •   Next-Gen Server and Switch Interconnects: Matches the bandwidth demands of 800G-class switch ports and computing nodes.
